Background

JAIME BAKER hails from a long line of builders and Realtors. A native Houstonian who traces her family’s roots in the Katy area back before the Civil War, Jaime grew up in the town largely built by her family. The Bakers moved to the area in the 1840s and established a successful general contracting business. Each succeeding generation has added to the legacy, most recently Jaime’s father, a highly-respected remodeling specialist for more than 40 years. Her family is prominently featured in the January 2016 “Legacy Families” edition of the Katy Magazine, and again in the 2018 Katy Magazine article titled “Cornerstone Legacy Families of Katy, Texas.”

From an early age Jaime understood the importance of home - what it means to individuals, to families, and to communities. She absorbed lessons about great design from her father, and knew instinctively that her life’s mission would be to guide others in finding their perfect home. In choosing to become a Realtor, she followed in the footsteps of her great-grandmother, the first female President of the Houston Realtors Association (HAR). “My great-grandmother was a keynote speaker at national real estate conventions. She was way ahead of her time. And she was part of the team that designed the Astrodome!” 

Encouraged by her family’s legacy, Jaime earned her real estate salesman’s license while she was a full-time student in college, and worked part-time selling and locating homes and apartments for clients in the San Marcos, New Braunfels, Kyle, and Austin areas. After graduation, she transitioned to full-time new construction luxury home sales in Houston and gained valuable experience in new home construction and design.

Like her pioneering ancestor, who also developed the first Multiple Listing Service in the Houston area (which became the model for the National MLS used today), Jaime is an innovator. She uses technology to connect with potential buyers and sellers in cyberspace. In fact, Jaime was named by Property Spark to their “Top 20 List of Young Realtors on Social Media 2017”. Prior to founding her own firm, Jaime taught other brokerage firms how to use social media and technology. Needless to say, her firm’s top tier photographers and videographers are leaders in using digital media to create curated home tours for prospective buyers.

Jaime has earned both the Graduate Realtor Institute (GRI) and Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designations. She is exceptionally proficient in current and emerging real estate industry technology and is personable, grounded, and unafraid to “think outside the box” to surmount a challenge. Jaime also uses social media to full advantage and was ranked #17 in the U.S. for Property Spark’s Top 20 Young Real Estate Agents on Social Media in 2017. Jaime graduated with Honors from Texas State University, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies with concentrations in Mass Communication, Business Administration and Consumer Sciences. Jaime is an alumna of Delta Zeta sorority.

She enjoys being with her family and friends, as well as yoga, tennis, astrology, cooking, animals, traveling, reading and art.

This Certified Negotiation Expert (CNE) designation is the premier negotiation designation in real estate. Agents who earn this designation have advanced negotiation skills and can better help clients achieve their goals. Students will learn how to strategically plan their negotiations, how to deal with overly competitive negotiators, and how to persuade and influence the other side of the transaction. You can be sure a CNE designated agent will be able to make the most of any given situation.

 

GRI Designation

In today’s competitive business environment, it often takes more than just motivation and initiative to succeed. Jaime earned the (GRI) designation from the REALTOR® Institute in 2015. The GRI designation is a way to stand out to prospective home buyers and sellers as a REALTOR® who has gained in-depth knowledge on technical subjects as well as the fundamentals of real estate.

With the GRI designation, Jaime has in-depth training in legal and regulatory issues, technology, professional standards, and the sales process.
